Legends Animated is a 501(c)(3) worker-self-directed nonprofit animation company dedicated to promoting the awareness and appreciation of animation as a storytelling medium. To support their mission of providing fiscal sponsorship, co-production partnerships, and cooperative business development, the organization needed a robust, professional content engine. The goal was to build a comprehensive promotional footprint that established brand credibility and captured high-impact visual assets during major industry conventions—specifically WonderCon, Comic-Con, and LightBox Expo.

Marketing Foundation

The marketing foundation focused on establishing industry authority, driving event-based awareness, and showcasing the organization's collaborative community value. The strategy targeted independent animation professionals, nonprofit organizers, and creators looking for cooperative development or fiscal sponsorship.

The strategy was executed across a meticulous pre-production phase and an agile, on-the-ground execution phase. Pre-production centered on building the internal content architecture required to present the organization's panelists professionally. The on-the-ground phase transformed three massive, fast-paced industry conventions into content-generation hubs to fuel Legends Animated's long-term digital presence.

The Creative Platform

The campaign anchored its visual narrative around high-end panel presentation graphics and real-time event asset documentation. Pre-event preparation required managing heavy cross-functional coordination, including gathering panelist bios, professional headshots, and titles to design authoritative, brand-compliant speaker graphics. A collaborative feedback loop was established with the client and core internal teams, utilizing iterative drafting and review cycles to ensure all promotional assets perfectly matched the brand's vision before public rollout.

At the conventions, the creative engine shifted into live production. Content creation focused on capturing the energy of live panel presentations, recording high-quality video of industry speakers, and taking professional documentary photography of the official booth spaces.

The Media Challenge and Solution

Representing a nonprofit organization across high-traffic, competitive conventions like Comic-Con and LightBox Expo requires balancing rigid pre-scheduling with rapid, chaotic on-site execution. The challenge lay in cleanly executing speaker curation before the events, followed by capturing clean media in loud, crowded convention halls without disrupting live programming.

To solve the pre-production challenge, a highly organized asset collection pipeline was implemented to quickly gather and format panelist assets, reducing approval bottlenecks through structured client feedback loops. On site, the challenge was met by deploying an independent, agile production workflow. By strategically positioning equipment to record clear panel videos, shoot dynamic booth photography, and quickly edit post-event video recaps, the campaign successfully built a rich media library. This high-quality asset catalog perfectly positioned Legends Animated to showcase its co-production and cooperative development capabilities to future partners.
