LatinX in Animation (LXiA) is a signature organization that unites diverse talents across the Animation, VFX, and Gaming ecosystems. LXiA fosters creativity and community through professional networking, educational events, and career development initiatives. In alignment with its mission to champion authentic representation and industry leadership, LXiA deployed a strategic, value-driven multi-platform social media campaign across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. The campaign focused on breaking down industry barriers for aspiring creators, highlighting pipeline opportunities, and solidifying direct relationships with top-tier global animation studios.

Marketing Foundation

The marketing foundation was built upon professional empowerment, high-utility resource sharing, and community-centric advocacy. Operating during a challenging and highly competitive industry job market, the campaign targeted aspiring artists, seasoned animators, and diverse storytellers looking to enter or advance within major entertainment studios.

The digital strategy operated on a two-pronged approach: an ongoing "Educational & Pipeline Advocacy" layer that demystified professional applications and studio processes, and a high-impact "Event Lifecycle Coverage" layer that captured major industry milestones—such as the LALIFF Animation Portfolio Reviews, major studio panels, and global festival presence like the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

The Creative Platform

The campaign anchored its creative positioning around exclusive access and industry validation. Content pillars prominently featured high-profile studio collaborations, including Nickelodeon Animation Studios, Disney Television Animation, and key partnership milestones like the SparkAnimation Sparks Grant distribution.

Visual assets and copy prioritized actionable professional opportunities, driving immense audience pull through announcements for one-on-one studio portfolio reviews, training academies, and open employment calls.

To bridge the gap between global studios and grassroots artists, the creative platform focused heavily on highlighting the success of Latinx creative teams behind culturally relevant hits—such as Marvel's Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur—using their industry journeys to inspire, educate, and deeply engage the broader LXiA community.

The Media Challenge and Solution

The primary challenge centered on sustaining community morale and delivering high-value, actionable career pathways during an unstable animation job market, all while managing limited internal multimedia production resources. To address this, the media strategy leaned heavily into platform-specific optimization to turn high-profile studio credibility into tangible community growth.

LinkedIn was leveraged as a pure professional accelerator, focusing on career development, networking opportunities, and studio sponsorship gratitude. Instagram served as the primary visual pipeline for immediate engagement, utilizing eye-catching graphics to broadcast high-demand application openings for the Avatar Academy and studio artist programs. Meanwhile, Facebook acted as a broad informational hub to celebrate grant winners and promote global co-production panels.

To overcome the friction of organic reach limitations, the solution prioritized direct community interactions, targeted industry tags, and continuous informational updates that converted passive digital scrollers into active program applicants.
